The Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology aims to train qualified human resources at master’s and doctorate’s levels. The trained professionals are qualified to work in universities, in research centers and in the industrial sector that employs biotechnological processes.

The program’s areas of activity are dynamically defined, with biotechnology of industrial application as a guideline. The program includes topics of research that are strategic for the country and of recognized international relevance, such as biomass conversion, applied microbiology, bioprocess development, enzymology, environmental biotechnology, functional genomics and genetic engineering of plants and microorganisms, design of reactors and computational simulation of bioprocesses.

The target audience of the Program is represented by undergraduates of the courses of Biochemical Engineering, Bioprocess Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, Pharmacy and other related areas that seek qualification in Industrial Biotechnology.
