A ocupa\u00e7\u00e3o da microbacia teve seu in\u00edcio na d\u00e9cada de 1960, com a constru\u00e7\u00e3o da Capela de Santa Rita, em 1964. Duas localizadas no Bairro Santa Angelina e a outra situada entre os Bairros Santa Angelina e Santa Fel\u00edcia. Ap\u00f3s percorrer uma extens\u00e3o de 4 km, desemboca no Rio do Monjolinho, pr\u00f3ximo \u00e0 rotat\u00f3ria do Cristo. Durante esse percurso, saindo da USP \u2013 \u00c1rea 2, segue em dire\u00e7\u00e3o aos Bairros Residencial Monsenhor Romeu Tortorelli e Parque Faber Castell A \u00e1rea da nascente desse C\u00f3rrego foi um importante exemplo de recupera\u00e7\u00e3o ambiental no final da d\u00e9cada de 1990, por meio do \u201cPrograma Santa F\u00e9\u201d, desenvolvido Essa situa\u00e7\u00e3o mostra que o envolvimento da comunidade e o compro\u00admisso pol\u00edtico das entidades governamentais e privadas s\u00e3o de fundamental import\u00e2ncia para a importantes. N\u00f3s temos duas escolas estaduais [falando sobre as escolas estaduais Att\u00edlia Prado Margarido e Professor Bento da Silva C\u00e9sar] e uma creche que est\u00e1 pr\u00f3xima ao c\u00f3rrego [CEMEI Maria L\u00facia Marrara] que trabalharam. Os professores e a dire\u00e7\u00e3o se preocuparam com o c\u00f3rrego e isso fez com que fossem feitos v\u00e1rios plantios.
