O projeto Carroceiro, coordenado e idealizado pela Profa. Dra. Renata Gebara Sampaio D\u00f3ria, iniciou suas atividades no ano de 2011 e, desde ent\u00e3o, vem contribuindo com muitas fam\u00edlias de Pirassununga e regi\u00e3o que utilizam equ\u00eddeos para tra\u00e7\u00e3o e n\u00e3o possuem condi\u00e7\u00f5es financeiras para fornecer a seus animais uma assist\u00eancia m\u00e9dica veterin\u00e1ria. O trabalho objetiva a conscientiza\u00e7\u00e3o dos propriet\u00e1rios dos equ\u00eddeos utilizados em carro\u00e7as (carroceiros) sobre: zoonoses, sa\u00fade p\u00fablica, manejo, bem-estar e promo\u00e7\u00e3o da sa\u00fade desses animais, que s\u00e3o utilizados para tra\u00e7\u00e3o como fonte de subsist\u00eancia por muitas fam\u00edlias. Al\u00e9m de promover a sa\u00fade e bem-estar dos animais, bem como a conscientiza\u00e7\u00e3o dos carroceiros, o projeto auxilia os estudantes de Medicina Veterin\u00e1ria da Faculdade de Zootecnia e Engenharia de Alimentos da Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo (FZEA-USP) a desenvolver e aprimorar suas habilidades cl\u00ednico-cir\u00fargicas no tratamento de equ\u00eddeos, complementando a forma\u00e7\u00e3o profissional.<\/span><\/p>
