Em particular, estamos interessados em eventos que determinam e definem o sistema nervoso. Para este fim, utilizamos como modelo experimental\u00a0 a retina do\u00a0<a class=\"broken_link\" href=\"http:\/\/ag.ansc.purdue.edu\/poultry\/\">embri\u00e3o de galinha<\/a>.\u00a0 O embri\u00e3o de galinha \u00e9 um dos modelos cl\u00e1ssicos da embriologia que nos permite observar e manipular eventos embriol\u00f3gicos variados. Al\u00e9m disso, nesse modelo animal, a retina constitui uma regi\u00e3o do sistema nervoso central de f\u00e1cil acesso.
