Almeida)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div id=\"grupos\">\n<h2>ECOLOGY AND CONSERVATION OF BIODIVERSITY<\/h2>\n<p>Study of interactions between organisms and the environment, involving both the different attributes of biodiversity (composition, structure and function) as well as the most diverse scales (gene, individual, population, community, biome, biosphere); contemplating purely conceptual and theoretical aspects of ecology and conservation, as well as their practical application, whether focused on understanding ecological processes or monitoring, predicting and mitigating the direct and indirect effects of anthropic action on biodiversity in general.<\/p>\n<h2>BIODIVERSITY EVOLUTION<\/h2>\n<p>The research line \u201cEvolution of Biodiversity\u201d emphasizes the understanding of the evolutionary history of organisms and the inference of phylogenetic interrelationships in living and extinct lineages, accessing present and past biodiversity. This line incorporates studies dedicated to understanding the origin and evolution of phenotypic and genetic characters, which bring together different levels of organization in the analysis of biological evolution. Since evolutionary processes are inherent in different aspects of Biodiversity, the \u201cEvolution of Biodiversity\u201d line integrates with other existing lines of research (\u201cEcology and Conservation of Biodiversity\u201d and \u201cHistory, Philosophy and Teaching Evolution and Ecology\u201d), establishing the theoretical and conceptual gradient that defines the interdisciplinary character of the Postgraduate Program in Comparative Biology.
