coopera\u00e7\u00e3o internacional, da mobiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de recursos financeiros, da transfer\u00eancia de tecnologia e da constru\u00e7\u00e3o de capacidades cient\u00edficas e institucionais. A coopera\u00e7\u00e3o na mobiliza\u00e7\u00e3o de recursos, dissemina\u00e7\u00e3o de tecnologias e fortalecimento de parcerias assumiu, por vezes, papel central para o desenvolvimento da biotecnologia. Isso se d\u00e1 pois essa ci\u00eancia, que se utiliza de organismos vivos, sistemas biol\u00f3gicos ou processos celulares para desenvolver produtos e tecnologias que atendam necessidades humanas em \u00e1reas como sa\u00fade, agricultura, ind\u00fastria e meio ambiente depende de infraestrutura cient\u00edfica avan\u00e7ada, compartilhamento de dados e colabora\u00e7\u00e3o entre institui\u00e7\u00f5es de diferentes pa\u00edses\u00a0 (NELSON; COX, 2017).\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O Projeto Genoma Humano \u00e9 um exemplo de coopera\u00e7\u00e3o cient\u00edfica internacional. Iniciado em 1990 e conclu\u00eddo em 2003, esse projeto envolveu pesquisadores de diversos pa\u00edses, incluindo Estados Unidos, Reino Unido, Jap\u00e3o, Fran\u00e7a, Alemanha e China. Seu objetivo principal foi mapear e sequenciar todo o genoma humano, produzindo uma base de dados aberta que permitiu avan\u00e7os significativos em medicina gen\u00e9tica, diagn\u00f3stico molecular e biotecnologia m\u00e9dica. Tal sequenciamento completo, publicado na revista <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nature<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (IRGSP, 2005), possibilitou o desenvolvimento de variedades mais adaptadas a mudan\u00e7as clim\u00e1ticas, contribuindo, assim, para a seguran\u00e7a alimentar global.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">J\u00e1 no contexto brasileiro, a biotecnologia tamb\u00e9m tem se beneficiado de parcerias internacionais alinhadas aos princ\u00edpios da ODS 17.\u00a0 O pa\u00eds conta, por exemplo, com o Projeto Genoma da bact\u00e9ria <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Xylella fastidiosa<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, conduzido pela Funda\u00e7\u00e3o de Amparo \u00e0 Pesquisa do Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo (FAPESP) em colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com diversos centros de pesquisa. Esse estudo, publicado na revista <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nature<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (SIMPSON et al., 2000), resultou no primeiro sequenciamento completo de um fitopat\u00f3geno realizado no hemisf\u00e9rio sul.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Portanto, a coopera\u00e7\u00e3o nacional e\u00a0 internacional facilita o acesso a tecnologias avan\u00e7adas, promovendo a forma\u00e7\u00e3o de pesquisadores e ampliando a capacidade cient\u00edfica de pa\u00edses em desenvolvimento.
