Mulheres e meninas, especialmente em contextos de vulnerabilidade social, enfrentam maiores dificuldades para acessar servi\u00e7os de sa\u00fade, informa\u00e7\u00e3o e preven\u00e7\u00e3o de doen\u00e7as, o que contribui para o aumento da incid\u00eancia de enfermidades evit\u00e1veis [1].<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Entre essas doen\u00e7as, destaca-se o c\u00e2ncer do colo do \u00fatero, um dos tipos de c\u00e2ncer mais comuns entre mulheres em pa\u00edses em desenvolvimento. Esse c\u00e2ncer est\u00e1 diretamente associado \u00e0 infec\u00e7\u00e3o persistente pelo papilomav\u00edrus humano (HPV), um v\u00edrus transmitido principalmente por contato sexual [2].<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">O HPV \u00e9 um grupo de v\u00edrus com mais de 200 tipos diferentes, sendo que alguns deles s\u00e3o considerados de alto risco, pois podem causar altera\u00e7\u00f5es celulares que levam ao desenvolvimento de c\u00e2ncer. A infec\u00e7\u00e3o pelo HPV \u00e9 bastante comum, por\u00e9m, na maioria dos casos, o sistema imunol\u00f3gico consegue elimin\u00e1-la. Essas vacinas s\u00e3o produzidas por meio de t\u00e9cnicas de biotecnologia, utilizando part\u00edculas semelhantes ao v\u00edrus (VLPs), que n\u00e3o possuem material gen\u00e9tico, mas s\u00e3o capazes de estimular o sistema imunol\u00f3gico a produzir anticorpos contra o HPV [3].<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A introdu\u00e7\u00e3o da vacina\u00e7\u00e3o contra o HPV em programas de sa\u00fade p\u00fablica tem contribu\u00eddo significativamente para a redu\u00e7\u00e3o da incid\u00eancia de infec\u00e7\u00f5es e, consequentemente, de casos de c\u00e2ncer do colo do \u00fatero. Pa\u00edses que adotaram amplamente a vacina\u00e7\u00e3o j\u00e1 apresentam diminui\u00e7\u00e3o significativa nas taxas de infec\u00e7\u00e3o pelos tipos mais perigosos do v\u00edrus [4].<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Al\u00e9m do impacto na sa\u00fade, a vacina\u00e7\u00e3o tamb\u00e9m est\u00e1 diretamente relacionada \u00e0 promo\u00e7\u00e3o da igualdade de g\u00eanero. Al\u00e9m disso, campanhas de conscientiza\u00e7\u00e3o e pol\u00edticas p\u00fablicas s\u00e3o essenciais para ampliar o acesso \u00e0 vacina\u00e7\u00e3o, especialmente em regi\u00f5es com menos recursos [3].<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00c9 importante destacar que a promo\u00e7\u00e3o da sa\u00fade feminina vai al\u00e9m da vacina\u00e7\u00e3o, envolvendo tamb\u00e9m acesso \u00e0 educa\u00e7\u00e3o, servi\u00e7os de sa\u00fade de qualidade e pol\u00edticas que garantam direitos e equidade. Nesse sentido, o ODS 5 prop\u00f5e a\u00e7\u00f5es integradas que visam eliminar todas as formas de discrimina\u00e7\u00e3o e viol\u00eancia contra mulheres e meninas [1].<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dessa forma, o desenvolvimento e a dissemina\u00e7\u00e3o das vacinas contra o HPV representam um exemplo claro de como a ci\u00eancia e a biotecnologia podem contribuir para a promo\u00e7\u00e3o da igualdade de g\u00eanero.
