Com o crescimento urbano acelerado, aumenta tamb\u00e9m a gera\u00e7\u00e3o de res\u00edduos e a emiss\u00e3o de poluentes, o que impacta diretamente a sa\u00fade da popula\u00e7\u00e3o e o meio ambiente. Nesse contexto, solu\u00e7\u00f5es baseadas na natureza v\u00eam ganhando espa\u00e7o, e os biofiltros se destacam como uma alternativa eficiente e sustent\u00e1vel.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Os biofiltros s\u00e3o sistemas que combinam plantas, solo e microrganismos para remover subst\u00e2ncias poluentes. A base desse processo est\u00e1 na a\u00e7\u00e3o de bact\u00e9rias e fungos que vivem pr\u00f3ximos \u00e0s ra\u00edzes das plantas. Esses microrganismos conseguem degradar compostos t\u00f3xicos por meio de processos naturais de biorremedia\u00e7\u00e3o, transformando-os em subst\u00e2ncias menos prejudiciais ao ambiente [1][2].<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Um dos exemplos mais conhecidos dessa tecnologia s\u00e3o os wetlands constru\u00eddos, ou zonas \u00famidas artificiais. Esses sistemas imitam ambientes naturais e s\u00e3o amplamente utilizados no tratamento de esgoto e \u00e1guas residuais. A \u00e1gua passa por camadas com plantas e microrganismos, permitindo a remo\u00e7\u00e3o de mat\u00e9ria org\u00e2nica, nutrientes e outros poluentes. Esse tipo de solu\u00e7\u00e3o est\u00e1 alinhado com propostas de urbanismo sustent\u00e1vel, que buscam integrar infraestrutura e natureza nas cidades [4].<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A biotecnologia tem papel essencial no avan\u00e7o desses sistemas. A sele\u00e7\u00e3o de microrganismos mais eficientes e o entendimento das intera\u00e7\u00f5es entre plantas e bact\u00e9rias permitem melhorar o desempenho dos biofiltros.
