Selection Criteria<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-97818ca elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"97818ca\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c3eb999 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c3eb999\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div>The Program shall publish one Call per year, defining deadlines, procedures and requirements for student admission.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>A \u2013 Admission in the Master\u2019s Program shall be on a continuous basis, within the period of time established in the Call, provided that the following requirements are met:<\/strong><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>a)<\/strong> Official acceptance given by a program advisor who meets the criteria for opening of vacancies.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>b)<\/strong> Certificate of Proficiency in English, according to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.icb.usp.br\/~parasito\/novasnormas2.html\">Section V<\/a>\u00a0of the present Rule, issued by institution accredited by the Program.\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>c)<\/strong> Presentation of Research Project approved by advisor.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>d)<\/strong> Letter from the applicant to the CCP, expressing the following:<\/div><ul><li>his\/her motivations, interests, expectations for the graduate program;<\/li><li>reasons for choosing the Program and the selected line of research.<\/li><\/ul><p>This letter will be evaluated by the CCP for the applicant\u2019s writing ability and appropriateness of his\/her intentions in relation to the objectives of the program.\u00a0 This letter will be evaluated together with the project and it is not eliminatory per se.<\/p><div><strong>e)<\/strong> Approval in written test, based on reading and interpretation of scientific articles in the Parasitology.\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>This evaluation will be carried out three times per year by the CCP, and it will be valid for one year. It will be based on scientific articles published in journals of Parasitology, in English, which shall be read and interpreted by the applicant. This evaluation does not substitute the Certificate of Proficiency in English.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>f)<\/strong> A foreign applicant shall also demonstrate proficiency in Portuguese on the occasion of his\/her application for the admission test or until the application date for the \u201cqualification test\u201d.\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>As evidence of Proficiency in Portuguese, the following certificates are accepted: Certificate of Proficiency in Portuguese for Foreigners (CELPE-Bras) granted by the Brazilian Ministry of Education (MEC) or a Certificate of Approval in the Portuguese\u00a0Language\u00a0Proficiency Test administered by the Language Center of the School of Philosophy, Languages, and Humanities of the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ci\u00eancias Humanas, FFLCH\/USP).<\/div><div>B &#8211; The admission in the Doctoral Program (PhD) shall be on a continuous basis, within the period of time established in the Call, provided that the following requirements are met:<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>B1 \u2013 Doctoral with previous Master\u2019s Degree:<\/strong><\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>a) <\/strong>Master\u2019s Degree with thesis defended or to be defended in \u201cstricto-sensu\u201d graduate program recommended by CAPES.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>b)<\/strong> Official acceptance given by a program advisor who meets the criteria for opening of vacancies as set forth in Section XI of this Rule.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>c)<\/strong> Certificate of Proficiency in English, according to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.icb.usp.br\/~parasito\/novasnormas2.html\">Section V<\/a>\u00a0of the present Rule, issued by institution accredited by the Program. \u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>d)<\/strong> Letter from the applicant to the CCP, expressing the following:<\/div><ul><li>his\/her motivations, interests, expectations for the graduate program;<\/li><li>reasons for choosing the Program and the selected line of research<\/li><\/ul><div><strong>e)<\/strong> Approval in written test, based on reading and interpretation of scientific articles in the Parasitology.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>This evaluation will be carried out three times per year by the CCP, and it will be valid for one year. It will be based on scientific articles published in journals of Parasitology, in English, which shall be read and interpreted by the applicant. Foreign language<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f900c41 elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"f900c41\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-607a40f elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"607a40f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div>Proficiency in English will be required for Program admission. A Certificate of Proficiency may be issued by the following institutions:<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>a.<\/strong> FFLCH\/USP Language Center \u2013 administered once per semester for the ICB\/USP graduate program applicants. Approval Requirement: Sufficient in different levels for Master\u2019s and PhD;\u00a0\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>b.<\/strong> TEAP (Test of English for Academic and Professional Purposes). Approval Requirement: Grades 70 and 65 for Doctoral and Master\u2019s respectively;<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>c.<\/strong> WAP (Writing for Academic and Professional Purposes. Approval Requirement: Grades 50 and 45 for Doctoral and Master\u2019s respectively;<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>d.<\/strong> TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language \u2013 (Internet \u2013based Test). Approval Requirement: Grades 60 and 55 for Doctoral and Master\u2019s respectively;<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>e.<\/strong> TOEFL ITP (Test of English as a Foreign Language \u2013 Institutional Test Program). Approval Requirement: Scores 500 and\u00a0480m for Doctoral and Master\u2019s respectively;<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>f.<\/strong> IELTS (International English Language Testing System). Approval Requirement: Scores 4.5 and 4.2 for Doctoral and Master\u2019s respectively;<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div><strong>g.<\/strong> Cambridge University Exams. In the latter case, the student shall deposit his\/her PhD dissertation within 72 months, as of the date of enrollment in the Master\u2019s program.
