Fabr\u00edcia Nunes da Silva was born in Arapiraca, Alagoas, Brazil. She earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), Arapiraca Campus. During her studies, she was a member of the Tutorial Education Program (PET-Chemistry) and participated as a voluntary research student in the Medicinal Organic Synthesis Laboratory, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Silvia Helena Cardoso, where she conducted studies on coumarins and chalcones.<\/p>\n
She completed her master\u2019s degree in chemistry at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Andr\u00e9 Vieira, focusing on luminescent liquid crystals derived from benzoxadiazoles. One of her resulting articles was featured on the cover of the Liquid Crystals<\/em> journal in the September 2019 issue.<\/p>\n Her Ph.D. was carried out in a co-tutelle program between UFBA and the University of Bordeaux, France, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Andr\u00e9 Vieira (UFBA) and Dr. Harald Bock (CRPP-UB). Her research focused on the synthesis of glassy materials with liquid crystalline properties. Her thesis was awarded the UFBA Best Thesis Award in 2024 in the field of Exact and Earth Sciences.<\/p>\n Currently, Fabr\u00edcia is a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Giuliano Clososki, working on the synthesis and certification of pharmaceutical impurities using continuous flow processes.<\/p>\n More about her:<\/p>\n Outside the lab, Fabr\u00edcia is almost always with a coffee or tea in hand, watching intriguing documentaries or trying to guess the ending of a good mystery novel. Naturally curious, she loves when science meets creativity \u2014 and swears that some of the best ideas come during a walk or while listening to her super eclectic playlist.
