Ph.D. Edilaine Honorio da Silva

Bachelor and Master in physics from the Universidade Federal de São Carlos, Brazil, Prof. E.H. da Silva obtained her PhD degree in medical sciences from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, in collaboration with the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre, Belgium. From her post-doctoral experience at the Belgian Nuclear research Centre (Belgium), Universidade de São Paulo (Campus Ribeirão Preto – Brazil), Institut de Radioprotection et de Surete Nucleaire (France) and Bundesamt fuer Strahlenschutz (Germany) she has got the chance to contribute to a couple of European Funded projects, both in external and internal dosimetry (MEDIRAD and RADONORM). Her work has been published in different International Journals, and she contributes as peer-reviewer to relevant publications in the field of radiation protection. Her research interest is assessing the exposure of patients and individuals occupationally exposed to low doses of ionizing radiation.
