From September 1 to 14, 2024, Prof. Dr. Neilo M. Trindade from the Institute of Physics at the University of São Paulo (USP) and his PhD student Matheus Cavalcanti from São Paulo State University (UNESP) visited Clemson University in South Carolina, USA, for a scientific collaboration with the luminescence research group led by Prof. Dr. Luiz G. Jacobsohn. The visit focused on advancing research in the field of luminescence dosimetry.
During the visit, the researchers conducted several activities, including experiments using luminescence techniques on samples provided by Prof. Trindade. In addition to the experimental work, the researchers held discussions regarding a new collaborative project between the two research teams.
Finally, Prof. Trindade and Matheus presented the latest findings from their dosimetry research group at USP to Prof. Jacobsohn, fostering knowledge exchange and identifying new synergies that could be explored for future collaborations. The prospects are promising for both teams, with the expectation that this international partnership to yield significant advances in the field of materials science and luminescence research.
