Immunological remodeling when facing an infection
In her lecture, Dr. Caetano will discuss with the students how the immune system maintains homeostasis while dealing with multiple daily challenges throughout life. Special focus will be given to how the immune system deals with different infections, which may have various outcomes, not always successful in completely eliminating the infectious agent and reestablishing homeostasis. Dr. Caetano will also discuss how immunology may contribute to building epidemic preparedness in a multidisciplinary manner, pointing out some important lessons from the covid-19 pandemic.
