The Expert Crisis: Democracy and Mediators in Science and Policy
In her lecture, Dr. Roque will aim to promote greater awareness of the specificity of the crisis we are experiencing today in which there is a breach of trust in the relationship between science and politics. Denialism and disinformation tactics are seen as symptoms of questioning the role of mediators, in general, and of experts, in particular. We will discuss strategies that can be used to increase the effectiveness of scientific communication with the general public during emergencies.
