Possui gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em Bacharel em M\u00fasica &#8211; Habilita\u00e7\u00e3o Instrumento &#8211; pela Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile (1992), mestrado e doutorado em Musicologia pela Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo (2001; 2008), tendo como orientadores Jos\u00e9 Eduardo Martins (mestrado) e M\u00e1rio Ficarelli (doutorado). Teve como mentores de suas pesquisas R\u00e9gis Duprat e M\u00e1rio Vieira de Carvalho. \u00c9 membro do Italian and Ibero American Relationships Study Group (RIIA), sediado no IMLA-Veneza (Istituto per lo studio della musica latinoamericana durante il periodo coloniale). Recebeu Men\u00e7\u00e3o Honrosa no Pr\u00eamio Capes de Tese 2009 pela tese &#8220;Administrando a Festa: M\u00fasica e Iluminismo no Brasil Colonial&#8221;. \u00c9 fundador da Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Regional para Am\u00e9rica Latina e Caribe da International Musicology Society (ARLAC-IMS) e da Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Brasileira de Musicologia (ABMUS). Coordena o Laborat\u00f3rio de Musicologia (LAMUS). Nele desenvolve a Linha de Pesquisa Processos Hist\u00f3ricos, Ideol\u00f3gicos e Discursivos da M\u00fasica Brasileira. Estas linhas se desdobram em projetos de pesquisa sobre Estudos de Significa\u00e7\u00e3o Musical com foco nos estudos dos processos ret\u00f3ricos na m\u00fasica do per\u00edodo colonial brasileiro; estudos historiogr\u00e1ficos e estudos das organiza\u00e7\u00e3o band\u00edsticas de S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n<p><em>Associate Professor (level 2) at the School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities at the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (EACH-USP). He is a professor at the Graduate Program in Musicology at the Department of Music at ECA-USP, where he teaches the disciplines of Analysis of Brazilian Musical Historiography and Studies of Musical Meaning and at the Graduate Program in Social Change and Political Participation (PROMUSPP) at EACH-USP. Guest Professor of the Mag\u00edster in Latin American Musicology at Universidad Alberto Hurtado (Chile). He holds a Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Music &#8211; Instrument Qualification &#8211; from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile (1992), a Master&#8217;s and Doctorate in Musicology from the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (2001; 2008), having as advisors Jos\u00e9 Eduardo Martins (Master&#8217;s) and M\u00e1rio Ficarelli (PhD. ). He had as mentors in his research R\u00e9gis Duprat and M\u00e1rio Vieira de Carvalho. He is a member of the Italian and Ibero American Relationships Study Group (RIIA), based at the IMLA-Venice (Istituto per lo studio della musica latinoamericana during the colonial period). He received an Honorable Mention at the Capes Thesis Award 2009 for the thesis &#8220;Managing the Party: Music and Enlightenment in Colonial Brazil&#8221;. He is founder of the Regional Association for Latin America and the Caribbean of the International Musicology Society (ARLAC-IMS) and the Brazilian Association of Musicology (ABMUS). He coordinates the Musicology Laboratory (LAMUS). In it, he develops the Research Line Historical, Ideological and Discursive Processes of Brazilian Music.
