Satellite Event

A global dialogue about climate change and human rights

JUNE 5th 2025

SATELLITE EVENT

USP, in partnership with IRICE, is organising an international event that is part of the Global Climate Summit – Right Here, Right Now, an initiative led by the University of Oxford, the United Nations, and universities around the world.
Held on World Environment Day, the Brazilian edition anticipates key themes of COP30, which will be hosted in Brazil, and brings together three interconnected pillars of climate action.

The event is supported by the COP30 Presidency, is part of #MutiraoGlobalCOP30 and is grounded in the principles of the Global Ethical Balance, an initiative that seeks to strengthen societal engagement in the implementation of the Dubai Consensus.

Committed to human rights, the event reinforces that climate justice requires not only protecting those most vulnerable to climate change but also ensuring their effective participation in building solutions. Two fundamental themes are highlighted: a just transition and ending deforestation through the protection and restoration of ecosystems.

The event is open to the public upon registration. Sign up below and join us.
