V\u00e1rios de nossos trabalhos avaliam como esses circuitos neurais s\u00e3o afetados pela a\u00e7\u00e3o de diversos horm\u00f4nios, como leptina, GH, estr\u00f3genos, IGF-1, prolactina, insulina, grelina, entre outros. Para tanto, usamos t\u00e9cnicas de biologia molecular, manipula\u00e7\u00e3o gen\u00e9tica, histologia, bioqu\u00edmica e avalia\u00e7\u00e3o do comportamento animal. Nossos achados ajudam a entender os mecanismos que regulam o metabolismo e a secre\u00e7\u00e3o hormonal em situa\u00e7\u00f5es fisiol\u00f3gicas e patol\u00f3gicas. Entre os principais achados do nosso grupo de pesquisa est\u00e3o:<\/span><\/p><ol><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Melhor entendimento dos mecanismos moleculares que geram resist\u00eancia \u00e0 leptina, e portanto, predisp\u00f5em a doen\u00e7as metab\u00f3licas, como obesidade e diabetes.
