O espectr\u00f4metro foi instalado e integrantes do laborat\u00f3rio receberam treinamento t\u00e9cnico para oper\u00e1-lo.<\/p>\n<p>A espectroscopia de infravermelho mede a absor\u00e7\u00e3o de radia\u00e7\u00e3o na faixa do infravermelho (IR)\u00a0pelas liga\u00e7\u00f5es qu\u00edmicas do material. A regi\u00e3o do espectro mais empregada na espectroscopia no infravermelho (IR) \u00e9 a regi\u00e3o conhecida como infravermelho m\u00e9dio compreendida entre 4000-400 cm-1, onde aparecem as bandas de absor\u00e7\u00e3o devidas \u00e0s vibra\u00e7\u00f5es fundamentais das mol\u00e9culas. Fragmentos estruturais qu\u00edmicos de mol\u00e9culas, conhecidos como grupos funcionais, tendem a absorver radia\u00e7\u00e3o IR na mesma faixa de frequ\u00eancia. Essa correla\u00e7\u00e3o entre a estrutura da mol\u00e9cula e a absor\u00e7\u00e3o de radia\u00e7\u00e3o IR em determinado comprimento de onda permite identificar a estrutura de mol\u00e9culas desconhecidas e acompanhar suas as altera\u00e7\u00f5es estruturais ou qu\u00edmicas.<\/p>\n<p>O espectrofot\u00f4metros adquirido \u00e9 equipado com uma s\u00e9rie de acess\u00f3rios que permitem o instrumento a operar em diferentes modos, sendo os principais deles o de transmiss\u00e3o atrav\u00e9s da prepara\u00e7\u00e3o de partilha de KBr e reflex\u00e3o total atenuada (ATR).
