Maria Luiza de Morais Barreto de Chaves
Research Line: Hormonal action in cardiovascular pathophysiology.
Biography: Graduated in Biological Sciences from the University of São Paulo, degree and bachelor’s degree (1990), Doctorate in Science (Human Physiology) from the Biomedical Sciences Institute – USP (1996) and Post-Doctorate in Molecular Biology (InCor-USP and Vanderbilt University-TE-USA). Hired in 1999, she is currently Full Professor at the Anatomy Department at ICB-USP. She has experience in the field of Physiology and Morphology, with emphasis on Cellular and Molecular Biology of the Cardiovascular System, working mainly on the following topics: Cardiac Hypertrophy, Hormonal Action in Cardiovascular Pathophysiology, Renin-Angiotensin System. Dedicated to undergraduate, graduate and extension teaching.
