Ammir Yacoub Helou

Systems Biology – USP

Bachelor´s degree in Biological Sciences from Universidade Positivo (Curitiba-PR). Master in Sciences from the Postgraduate Program in Systems Biology (concentration area: Morphofunctional Biology) from the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo. Currently a doctoral student in the same program. He researches at the Chemical Neuroanatomy Laboratory under Professor Dr. Jackson Cioni Bittencourt. The research investigates the role of corticosterone on melanin-concentrating hormone-producing neurons in the medial preoptic area of lactating Long-Evans rats, focusing on neuroplasticity/neurogenesis phenomena. He has experience in animal handling, histological techniques, molecular biology, and behavioral analysis.
