Previously, she served as Senior Provenance Specialist at MoMA (2015\u20132019) and as a research associate at the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin (2008\u20132014), where she focused on provenance research and digital initiatives. She has held fellowships at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles (2014\u20132015) and the German Historical Institute in Moscow (2011). Rother studied art history, economics, and law at the University of Leipzig, earning her M.A. in 2008. She completed her Ph.D. in art history at the Technische Universit\u00e4t Berlin in 2015 under the supervision of B\u00e9n\u00e9dicte Savoy. Her recent scholarship, published in peer-reviewed journals and industry publications, concentrates on the future of cataloguing and the role of provenance research in shaping institutional accountability.
