Nanobiotech, laborat\u00f3rio que implementou no in\u00edcio de 2016 com a\u00a0\u00a0miss\u00e3o de desenvolver, aprimorar e avaliar tecno-economicamente tecnologias sustent\u00e1veis de processos biocatal\u00edticos e biotecnologia industrial para a convers\u00e3o eficiente de materiais renov\u00e1veis em bioprodutos e biomateriais, como micro- e nano-celuloses.<\/p><p>O seu interesse em sustentabilidade e produtos renov\u00e1veis despertou-se bem cedo com a participa\u00e7\u00e3o na Associa\u00e7\u00e3o de Recupera\u00e7\u00e3o Florestal do Vale do Para\u00edba e Litoral Norte (Flora Para\u00edba) para o desenvolvimento de projetos ambientais de fomento incentivando o re-florestamento nas regi\u00f5es do Vale do Para\u00edba e Litoral Norte, no estado de S\u00e3o Paulo. Essa experi\u00eancia \u00fanica, ainda durante o ensino m\u00e9dio, solidificou a vontade de seguir uma carreira relacionada \u00e0 produ\u00e7\u00e3o de produtos e materiais a partir de mat\u00e9ria-prima renov\u00e1vel.<\/p><p>O prof. Arantes possui gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em Engenharia Industrial Qu\u00edmica (enfase em Biotecnologia) e Doutorado em Biotecnologia Industrial pela Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo, com interc\u00e2mbios\u00a0na Purdue University e na University of Maine nos Estados Unidos e na York Univeristy no Canad\u00e1. Seu p\u00f3s-Doutorado (2008-2011) em\u00a0Biotecnologia Industrial para Produtos Renov\u00e1veis em conceito de\u00a0Biorrefinaira foi realizado na University of British Columbia (Canad\u00e1), local onde continuou atuando at\u00e9 2014 como pesquisador na \u00e1rea de Biorrefinaria, e tamb\u00e9m como l\u00edder da equipe de tecnologia enzim\u00e1tica aplicada \u00e0 bioconvers\u00e3o de biomassa.<\/p><p>Como resultado de suas atividades de pesquisa, Dr. Arantes tamb\u00e9m possui uma atua\u00e7\u00e3o ativa na comunidade cient\u00edfica internacional, atuando como revisor de v\u00e1rios peri\u00f3dicos internacionais e membro do corpo editorial dos peri\u00f3dicos internacionais Bioethanol Journal, BioMed Research Internacional Biotechnology, e Frontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology and Energy Research. Dr. Arantes tamb\u00e9m j\u00e1 atuou como consultor para v\u00e1rios \u00f3rg\u00e3os nacionais de fomento como o Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Cient\u00edfico e Tecnol\u00f3gico (CNPq) assim como para ag\u00eancias\u00a0 de internacionais de fomento a pesquisa como o US Department of Agricultural Small Business Innovation Research, Kentucky Science &amp; Engineering Foundation, Estonian Research Council, e mais recentemente para a Research Executive Agency da European Commission.
