"luckily we always have a great example to inspire us"

"As women, we face a lot of challenges, difficulties and inequility in this field"

"encouragement among us women is extremely important for our history in science"

Amanda Franzini Martinelli

“When I understood what career I wanted to pursue, I received immense support from my mother, a woman who, despite not being directly in the scientific field, really liked what she knew about the area and would really like me to follow her. And since then, her encouragement has become extremely important for me to follow myself firmly regardless of everything I had to face.
And it is very gratifying to be a woman and to be part of the scientific community, to know that we are producing knowledge and also consuming it constantly, and thus we can encourage ourselves and even stimulate more and more future scientists. So, I really believe that encouragement among us women is extremely important for our history in science.”

Eloisa Garibalde Hilario

“Working with science is a daily challenge, working in science as a woman is often more complicated. Since I chose this path, I could see that there would be many difficulties, we often have less voice, we are fewer in number, we are discredited. I saw that the path towards greater gender equality within the academy is still very long, but luckily we always have a great example to inspire us and show that even in the midst of the many difficulties that are imposed on us, we still manage to be brilliant and be among the best. And within these great examples are the incredible women who are part of and who have already been part of NanoLum, where I am lucky to be able to work together and share my still small achievements. Long live science and long live women in science!”

Tatiana Habib

“Women and girls play a critical role in science and their participation should be straightened. As women, we face a lot of challenges, difficulties and inequility in this field. International day of women and girls in science is helping encourage women of all ages to work hard, have full and equal access and participation in science, technology and innovation.
I consider myself lucky to be a part of NanoLum amongst strong, amart and successfull women as an exemple.”
