The general objective of creating the academic league of Pediatric Dentistry at FORP, as an extra-curricular University extension activity, is to deepen and improve on specific issues related to the field of Pediatric Dentistry. It aims at placing students in a professional practice setting and stimulating their scientific curiosity through research. The students are also involved in the organisation of scientific meetings, clinical discussions, symposia, congresses and interaction with the local health system. The interaction of academics and Professors in an out of class context, as well as with Postgraduate students in Pediatric Dentistry, has promoted critical-reflective thinking about the importance of the academy in the training process and their responsibility as an agent of social transformation through extracurricular activities. It was created in the second semester of 2018 and since then extra class activities with actions aimed at prevention, health promotion and the improvement of technical\/scientific knowledge have been carried out. It has received active participation from Professors in the Pediatric Dentistry discipline and Postgraduate students in the area.<\/p>\n
