Chemical Reaction Engineering

In a chemical process, chemical reactions are the steps in which significant change of components occur and it is where the opportunities for adding value to the process exist. The understanding of this step involves the study of reaction mechanisms and the interaction of the kinetics with mass and energy transfer, which make it possible the design of reactors with better performances. The study of catalysts makes possible to interfere in the kinetics, with the aim of making the reactions either faster or more selective.
