In the undergraduate Mechanical Engineering course at PME, there are two main exchange modalities: Double Degree (DD) and Aproveitamento de Estudos (AE).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In the Double Degree modality, the student obtains, at the end of the exchange, an official diploma from the institution chosen for the study program, in addition to the Poli-USP diploma.<\/span><\/p>

The program lasts 2 years (in some cases up to 3 years depending on the chosen institution), and typically begins in the eighth semester of the undergraduate course. Due to the longer duration, the graduation is expected to be extended by 1 year.<\/span><\/p>

Applications for the Double Degree program must be submitted in the sixth semester of the course, and are followed by the steps below:<\/span><\/p>

Submission of documents (Academic Transcript, Resume, Motivation Letter, etc.) and selection of the desired educational institution for the exchange program (typically more than one option can be chosen, up to a certain limit, with an order of priority).<\/span>
Interview of the candidate with members of the Poli-USP jury team.<\/span>
Internal analysis of the interview score, documents, and Academic Transcript (overall course grade is an important selection criterion).<\/span>
Announcement of pre-selected candidates.<\/span>
Additional steps (such as interviews in English or in the native language of the chosen country, submission of recommendation letters, etc.), depending on the chosen institution.<\/span>
Announcement of the final result (the final decision is made by the chosen institution).<\/span>

In the Aproveitamento de Estudos modality, the student studies for one or two semesters at a partner university abroad, with equivalency of courses taken at the destination institution to the Poli-USP course curriculum. Unlike Duplo Diploma, the student does not obtain a diploma from the foreign institution at the end of the program.<\/span><\/p>

The program typically lasts 1 to 2 semesters, and generally begins between the fifth and seventh semester of the undergraduate course. Due to the shorter duration, the exchange normally does not extend the total graduation time, provided there is adequate course planning.<\/span><\/p>

Applications for the Aproveitamento de Estudos program must be submitted according to the deadlines established by the AUCANI notices, and are followed by the steps below:<\/span><\/p>

Submission of documents (Academic Transcript, Resume, Motivation Letter, proof of language proficiency, etc.) and selection of destination universities (typically more than one option can be chosen, with an order of priority).<\/span>
