Apesar de suas qualidades, o polimetilmetacrilato ainda mostra-se um material com resist\u00eancia comprometida. Para tanto, diversos refor\u00e7os t\u00eam sido propostos na literatura cient\u00edfica e entre eles encontram-se as fibras de vidro e de aramida. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; line-height: 1.5;\">Apesar de acrescerem na resist\u00eancia da matriz acr\u00edlica pouco se sabe sobre como os esfor\u00e7os aplicados sobre a resina refor\u00e7ada por fibras s\u00e3o transmitidos e distribu\u00eddos \u00e0s \u00e1reas de sustenta\u00e7\u00e3o, o que motivou a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o desta pesquisa por <strong>OLIVEIRA<\/strong> (<strong>2007<\/strong>).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; line-height: 1.5;\"> <strong>OLIVEIRA<\/strong> (<strong>2007<\/strong>) confeccionau dez corpos-de-prova em resina acr\u00edlica termopolimeriz\u00e1vel divididos em cinco grupos segundo o refor\u00e7o utilizado: fibras de vidro filamentares tratadas por imers\u00e3o no mon\u00f4mero acr\u00edlico (Grupo F), fibras de vidro em malha submetidas ao mesmo tratamento (Grupo M), fibras de vidro tran\u00e7adas com aramida e tratadas por imers\u00e3o na mistura mon\u00f4mero\/pol\u00edmero (Grupo H) e fibras de vidro tran\u00e7adas com aramida e tratadas por silaniza\u00e7\u00e3o (Grupo HS). Como grupo controle (C) foram utilizadas amostras de resina acr\u00edlica termicamente ativada sem a associa\u00e7\u00e3o de fibras de refor\u00e7o. Ap\u00f3s a adapta\u00e7\u00e3o dos corpos-de-prova \u00e0 matriz fotoel\u00e1stica os mesmos foram submetidos a ensaio de flex\u00e3o atrav\u00e9s da <strong>M\u00e1quina Universal de Ensaios<\/strong> acoplada ao <strong>Polarisc\u00f3pio Circular<\/strong> (Desenvolvido na Faculdade de Engenharia Mec\u00e2nica &#8211; UFU, Uberl\u00e2ndia, MG, Brasil). <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; line-height: 1.5;\">Os resultados mostraram valores para a Energia de Distor\u00e7\u00e3o, em Kgf\/mm2, de 223,124 para o grupo F; de 218,710 para o grupo H; 217,692 para o grupo M; 215,810 para o grupo HS e de 210,122 para o grupo C. Tamb\u00e9m foi observado que a energia de distor\u00e7\u00e3o apresentou distribui\u00e7\u00e3o homogeneamente crescente em todos os grupos estudados (<strong>OLIVEIRA<\/strong>, <strong>200<\/strong>7).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: Arial; line-height: 1.5;\"><strong>OLIVEIRA<\/strong> (<strong>2007<\/strong>) conclu\u00ed que a associa\u00e7\u00e3o de fibras \u00e0 resina acr\u00edlica gerou aumento da energia acumulada na \u00e1rea de sustenta\u00e7\u00e3o prot\u00e9tica sendo que os maiores valores foram observados para o grupo de fibras de vidro filamentares e que a silaniza\u00e7\u00e3o da fibra h\u00edbrida contribuiu para uma menor transmiss\u00e3o de tens\u00e3o \u00e0 matriz fotoel\u00e1stica.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 10px;\">REFER\u00caNCIAS<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\" align=\"justify\">\n<div align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: 10px;\">1.
