Mesmo sem dados dispon\u00edveis sobre a situa\u00e7\u00e3o atual da maioria das cidades do Estado de S\u00e3o Paulo, e da exist\u00eancia de programas municipais de arboriza\u00e7\u00e3o, sistemas georeferenciados apontam a necessidade de amplia\u00e7\u00e3o dessas iniciativas. O Treepedia<\/a> , por exemplo, mantido pelo Senseable City Lab, do Massachussets Institute of Technology, mostra que 2 cidades – S\u00e3o Paulo e Franca – possuem uma cobertura arb\u00f3rea vi\u00e1ria bem inferior \u00e0 maioria das outras 28 cidades do mundo monitoradas, com apenas 11,7% e 13,7%, respectivamente. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

O planejamento e gest\u00e3o da arboriza\u00e7\u00e3o urbana, entretanto, envolve um conjunto de atividades complexas, onerosas e diversas intera\u00e7\u00f5es, muitas vezes conflituosas, com a infraestrutura urbana, com agentes p\u00fablicos e privados. Assim, a necess\u00e1ria melhoria do cen\u00e1rio urbano em nosso estado em rela\u00e7\u00e3o a este aspecto, exigir\u00e1 tamb\u00e9m, n\u00e3o apenas o redimensionamento, mas tamb\u00e9m o planejamento dessas atividades em novas bases.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A demanda por madeira e o potencial da floresta urbana\n\n<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Segundo o governo do Estado, no ano de 2021, 40% da madeira ilegal desmatada da Amaz\u00f4nia passa pelas estradas paulistas (G1 – SP<\/a>). Al\u00e9m disso, sabe-se que o Estado \u00e9 o maior mercado consumidor, no pa\u00eds, da madeira serrada tropical (cerca de 17%), de um total de 2,4 milh\u00f5es de m3, sem falar nas 29,2 milh\u00f5es de m3 de toras consumidas no pa\u00eds em 2020 (ITTO,2020<\/a>), empregadas, na maior parte, para fabrica\u00e7\u00e3o de m\u00f3veis, pisos e outros itens da constru\u00e7\u00e3o civil.<\/p>

Por outro lado, os n\u00fameros relacionados \u00e0s atividades de poda e remo\u00e7\u00e3o de \u00e1rvores urbanas tamb\u00e9m s\u00e3o expressivos: apenas na cidade de S\u00e3o Paulo, no m\u00eas de janeiro de 2021, foram registradas 776 quedas de \u00e1rvores (G1 – SP<\/a>) e, de janeiro e setembro do mesmo ano, a Prefeitura realizou 123 mil podas (G1 – SP2<\/a>) – a um custo mensal de R$ 4,6 milh\u00f5es (2019<\/a>) -, o que n\u00e3o foi suficiente para atender as solicita\u00e7\u00f5es existentes. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
