Podemos ter dois tipos deste tratamento ap\u00f3s o desdobro:<\/p><ul><li aria-level=\"1\">\u00a0<strong>Tradicional<\/strong>, geralmente ocorre em pequena escala em comunidades onde a cultura j\u00e1 tem um conhecimento profundo da vegeta\u00e7\u00e3o forjado pela\u00a0 tradi\u00e7\u00e3o e pelos costumes. Ind\u00edgenas, quilombolas e pescadores costumam produzir artefatos, edifica\u00e7\u00f5es, medicamentos e roupas com o emprego de produtos oriundos das florestas nativas.\u00a0<\/li><li aria-level=\"1\"><strong>Industrial<\/strong>, quando os m\u00e9todos e processos tradicionais s\u00e3o estudados e ampliados para aumentar a produtividade e\/ou a sustentabilidade. No caso do processamento secund\u00e1rio, essas mudan\u00e7as t\u00eam impactado as duas abordagens. M\u00e1quinas sofisticadas, muito eficientes e computadorizadas permitem a fabrica\u00e7\u00e3o em massa de produtos de madeira. Por outro lado, tamb\u00e9m tem se difundido a customiza\u00e7\u00e3o massiva e por demanda, onde o consumidor pode personalizar seu produto, escolhendo algumas vari\u00e1veis. O tamanho dos equipamentos tamb\u00e9m foi reduzido, tornando-os mais acess\u00edveis e f\u00e1ceis de manejar para um n\u00famero maior de marceneiros e artes\u00e3os.\u00a0<\/p><p>Com o crescimento do parque industrial a madeira serrada \u00e9 a mat\u00e9ria-prima principal para a produ\u00e7\u00e3o de componentes para a constru\u00e7\u00e3o civil, na produ\u00e7\u00e3o de m\u00f3veis, utens\u00edlios e pequenos objetos.A fase de processamento secund\u00e1rio se subdivide ainda em quatro etapas principais, que abrangem conjuntos de opera\u00e7\u00f5es distintas. S\u00e3o elas: transforma\u00e7\u00e3o, usinagem, acabamento e montagem. Ser\u00e3o relacionadas a seguir, entretanto, apenas opera\u00e7\u00f5es relacionadas \u00e0 primeira etapa, destacando-se os tratamentos comerciais da madeira e modelos produtivos aplic\u00e1veis Os antigos encaixes e cunhas foram substitu\u00eddos por ferragens que facilitam a montagem e estrutura\u00e7\u00e3o de mesas, prateleiras e gaveteiros. O produto com madeira maci\u00e7a confeccionado com madeira maci\u00e7a tornou-se um artigo ainda mais raro e de luxo, onde muitos designers atuam em pequenos ateli\u00eas. Este processo logo se integrou tamb\u00e9m a sistemas produtivos computadorizados (CAM), com apoio de m\u00e1quinas de Controle por Comando Num\u00e9rico (CNC), as quais rapidamente evolu\u00edram para centros de usinagem, com troca de ferramentas e v\u00e1rios eixos de opera\u00e7\u00e3o, que permitiram usinar pe\u00e7as complexas.
