El Ej\u00e9rcito nicarag\u00fcense comandado por el general Anastasio Somoza Garc\u00eda tuvo un papel muy activo en el derrocamiento del r\u00e9gimen progresista de\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usp.br\/portalatinoamericano\/espanol-arbenz-guzman-jacobo\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jacobo\u00a0Arbenz Guzm\u00e1n<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, en\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usp.br\/portalatinoamericano\/espanol-guatemala\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Guatemala<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, durante el a\u00f1o 1954, como tambi\u00e9n en la invasi\u00f3n mercenaria de la bah\u00eda de Cochinos, contra el r\u00e9gimen de\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usp.br\/portalatinoamericano\/fidel-castro\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fidel Castro<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, en 1961.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">El \u00faltimo presidente Somoza, derrotado militarmente por el Frente Sandinista de Liberaci\u00f3n Nacional (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usp.br\/portalatinoamericano\/espanol-fsln\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">FSLN<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), huy\u00f3 hacia los Estados Unidos y luego se radic\u00f3 en\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usp.br\/portalatinoamericano\/espanol-paraguay\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Paraguay<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, donde muri\u00f3 en un atentado realizado por un comando internacional.
