O recrudescimento das medidas de controle fronteiri\u00e7o tem fomentado a exist\u00eancia de pessoas e grupos organizados, conhecidos como coiotes (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">coyotes<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">),\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">polleros<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pateros\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ou\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">balseros<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, que se especializaram em guiar os migrantes que tentam entrar ilegalmente nos Estados Unidos. Esse tr\u00e1fico converteu-se em uma atividade econ\u00f4mica crescente e altamente lucrativa, configurada por amplas redes internacionais, que obt\u00eam quantidades exorbitantes de dinheiro com o cruzamento clandestino de migrantes sem documentos para o outro lado da fronteira do\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usp.br\/portalatinoamericano\/mexico\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">M\u00e9xico\u00a0<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">com os Estados Unidos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Existem diversos tipos de coiotes, dependendo do tipo de v\u00ednculo que mant\u00eam com os migrantes e da complexidade da estrutura dessas organiza\u00e7\u00f5es. Alguns, os chamados coiotes locais, atuam como guias comunit\u00e1rios; suas organiza\u00e7\u00f5es s\u00e3o integradas por pessoas conhecidas da localidade com experi\u00eancia migrat\u00f3ria, que organizam o traslado de pequenos grupos de migrantes sem documentos para o outro lado da linha fronteiri\u00e7a. H\u00e1 tamb\u00e9m os coiotes fronteiri\u00e7os independentes, que operam de forma pouco estruturada, aos quais recorrem os migrantes que n\u00e3o disp\u00f5em de guias comunit\u00e1rios nem t\u00eam acesso \u00e0s organiza\u00e7\u00f5es mais sofisticadas. E finalmente existem os chamados bandos de coiotes de alta especializa\u00e7\u00e3o, com estruturas amplas e precisas no que se refere \u00e0 divis\u00e3o de trabalho entre seus membros, incluindo recrutadores, acompanhantes, viajantes, guias,\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">raiteros\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u2013 que trabalham nos Estados Unidos e se encarregam do traslado ao lugar de destino dos migrantes \u2013 e cobradores; esses bandos geralmente operam com esquemas sofisticados de recrutamento, alojamento e transporte, vinculados a outras organiza\u00e7\u00f5es maiores e, em muitos casos, amparados pela cumplicidade de autoridades locais, estaduais e federais.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As diferen\u00e7as entre esses traficantes de seres humanos s\u00e3o \u00f3bvias e se traduzem em diferen\u00e7as de custo e seguran\u00e7a para o migrante. Embora os coiotes locais sejam menos onerosos, eles proporcionam maior seguran\u00e7a f\u00edsica para os migrantes \u2013 ainda que geralmente ofere\u00e7am menor garantia do cruzamento na primeira tentativa \u2013, j\u00e1 os bandos de coiotes altamente organizados, al\u00e9m de se caracterizarem por seus altos custos, submetem os migrantes a maus-tratos, humilha\u00e7\u00f5es, estafa, repasse a outros coiotes desconhecidos, sem garantia de chegar ao lugar de destino e sujeitos at\u00e9 a serem abandonados \u00e0 pr\u00f3pria sorte durante o trajeto.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure
