No in\u00edcio, com uma postura conservadora em rela\u00e7\u00e3o aos avan\u00e7os cr\u00edticos de grupos mais inovadores, como o\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teatro Experimental de Cali\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(TEC), Jorge Triana encenou, nos primeiros anos, um repert\u00f3rio cl\u00e1ssico que incluiu\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A mandr\u00e1gora\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Maquiavel, 1968),\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">J\u00falio C\u00e9sar\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Shakespeare, 1969) e\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tartufo\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Moli\u00e8re, 1971) em montagens que tendiam a um\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pluralismo equilibrado<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A associa\u00e7\u00e3o, entre 1971 e 1980, com o grupo de teatro para crian\u00e7as El Alacr\u00e1n, dirigido pelo dramaturgo Carlos Jos\u00e9 Reyes, alterou, contudo, a linha de atua\u00e7\u00e3o do grupo, que passou a experimentar trabalhos de rua com bonecos gigantes e processos de\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cria\u00e7\u00e3o coletiva<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0aplicados a temas pol\u00edticos, marca registrada do Novo Teatro proposto por Enrique Buenaventura e j\u00e1 praticado por Reyes. Exemplos daquela nova tend\u00eancia foram as montagens\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Os fuzis da senhora Carrar\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Bertolt Brecht, 1971) e, nos anos seguintes,\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Delito, condena y ejecuci\u00f3n de una gallina\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(do guatemalteco Manuel Jos\u00e9 Arce, 1973) e\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I took Panam\u00e1\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(cria\u00e7\u00e3o coletiva em que o TPB combinou a dramaturgia do ator Luis Alberto Garc\u00eda e a dire\u00e7\u00e3o de Jorge Al\u00ed Triana, 1973).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Em meados da d\u00e9cada de 1970, com a sa\u00edda de uma s\u00e9rie de atores, o grupo entrou em grave crise, mas ainda seguiu adiante conduzido por Triana, que retomou a montagem de textos cl\u00e1ssicos trabalhados numa fronteira entre Konstantin Stanislavski e Bertolt Brecht.
