Sua hist\u00f3ria se originou de um trabalho teatral realizado no Rio de Janeiro sob a orienta\u00e7\u00e3o de dois atores e dramaturgos oriundos do\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/latinoamericana.wiki.br\/verbetes\/a\/arena-teatro-de\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teatro de Arena\u00a0<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">de S\u00e3o Paulo, Oduvaldo Vianna Filho, o Vianinha, e Chico de Assis. O projeto consolidou-se com a aproxima\u00e7\u00e3o de intelectuais de outras \u00e1reas, como o soci\u00f3logo Carlos Estevam Martins, ligado ao Instituto Superior de Estudos Brasileiros (<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usp.br\/portalatinoamericano\/espanol-iseb\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ISEB<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">), e estudantes, como o futuro cineasta\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usp.br\/portalatinoamericano\/espanol-hirszman-leon\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leon Hirszman<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. O CPC inspirou-se no Movimento de Cultura Popular, o MCP, capitaneado por\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usp.br\/portalatinoamericano\/espanol-arraes-miguel\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Miguel\u00a0Arraes<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0em Pernambuco a partir de 1960, e no projeto cultural do Partido Comunista. Em sua breve e intensa hist\u00f3ria, incorporou artistas e personalidades como Edu Lobo, Paulo Francis, S\u00e9rgio Ricardo, Carlos Lyra,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usp.br\/portalatinoamericano\/espanol-ferreira-gullar\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ferreira Gullar<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Jo\u00e3o das Neves, Geraldo Vandr\u00e9 e Carlos Vereza, tornando-se um dos mais importantes movimentos culturais da hist\u00f3ria brasileira.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A estrat\u00e9gia da entidade era a da agita\u00e7\u00e3o e propaganda de produ\u00e7\u00e3o de cultura nacional e popular engajada. Seu manifesto de lan\u00e7amento trazia alguns princ\u00edpios, como \u201cfora da arte pol\u00edtica n\u00e3o h\u00e1 arte popular\u201d e \u201cnossa arte s\u00f3 ir\u00e1 onde o povo consiga acompanh\u00e1-la, entend\u00ea-la e servir-se dela\u201d. Entre os esquetes ou textos teatrais criados coletivamente, por exemplo, consta o\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Auto dos 99 por cento\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(1962), sobre a\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usp.br\/portalatinoamericano\/espanol-agraria-reforma\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reforma agr\u00e1ria<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. A rela\u00e7\u00e3o de autores da pe\u00e7a ilustra o perfil ecl\u00e9tico em torno de uma mesma causa, o\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usp.br\/portalatinoamericano\/es\/es-espanol-teatro\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">teat<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">r<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.usp.br\/portalatinoamericano\/es\/es-espanol-teatro\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">o\u00a0<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">pol\u00edtico: Ant\u00f4nio Carlos Fontoura, Armando Costa, Carlos Estevam, Cecil Thir\u00e9, Marco Aur\u00e9lio Garcia e Vianinha. Entre as pe\u00e7as teatrais produzidas pelo CPC est\u00e3o ainda o\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Auto dos cassetetes\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">e o\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Auto do tutu est\u00e1 no fim<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.
