Grant to study in another countries

Doctoral Sandwich Abroad Program (PDSE)

PDSE is an institutional program of CAPES that aims to qualify high level human resources by granting sandwich doctorate scholarship quotas to Brazilian Higher Education Institutions (IES) that have a recommended and recognized doctorate course with a grade of 3 or higher.

PDSE was established in 2011 to replace the Doctoral Sandwich Branch and the Doctoral Program in Brazil with Internship Abroad (PDEE). The change was aimed at

increase the number of quotas granted to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), and give more agility in the process of implementing scholarships for doctoral students abroad.

The Pro-Rectory of Post-Graduate Studies of IES, or equivalent body, is responsible for managing the quotas, approving the applications, disseminating the results and monitoring the scholarship holders and graduates, keeping Capes informed about the progress of the internship abroad and ensuring compliance with the rules of PDSE.
