According to the Regiment of the CPG:

IV – NUMBER OF MEMBERS OF JUDGING COMMITTEES OF DISSERTATIONS AND THESES

IV.1 The Judging Committees of the Master Dissertations and the PhD Theses will be composed by three members, two of which must be external to the Graduate Program and one of them external to the USP.

IV.2 The Judging Committees shall also be composed by the candidate’s advisor or co-advisor, exclusively as chairperson, without the right to vote.

In the form for Composition of Judging Committees (http://cpg.eel.usp.br/formulario-cpg – item 4a) there will be a table where 6 members (3 titulars and 3 substitutes) and their institutions should be suggested, in the following way:

MPPGBI = GPIB Member

ME = External Member (another institution)

MUSP = Member of another graduate program or campus of USP
