On 18 August 2026, RCGI-USP held the launch of the book Guide for Assessing Environmental and Social Impacts of Offshore Wind Energy Development in Tropical Environments. Edited by Professors Luis Sánchez, Alexandre Turra and Carla Grigoletto Duarte, the publication brings together knowledge and guidance to support the assessment of impacts associated with offshore wind energy development in tropical regions.
The event brought together researchers, experts and guests both in person and online to present the publication and promote discussions on challenges, perspectives and good practices for assessing the environmental and social impacts of offshore wind energy projects. The discussion also contributed to broadening the dialogue on the responsible development of this energy source and on the importance of considering the specific environmental and social characteristics of tropical environments.
