A delegation from RCGI USP participated in the UN Conference on Climate Change (COP28) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which took place between November 30th and December 12th, 2023. In addition to the panels in which RCGI USP was invited to participate, our director of Human Resources and Institutional Communication, Karen Mascarenhas, also had the opportunity to talk to researchers about their projects. We\u2019re happy to announce that researchers from University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP) and the Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Innovation (RCGI) will be part of COP 28 UAE. They will join in a round table with the theme: \u2018Science dialogue on climate action and sustainable investment in Brazil\u2019,\u202fon 5th<\/sup>\u00a0December at 16:30 -18:30 GST, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.<\/p>

Among the speakers will be\u00a0Julio Meneghini<\/strong>, RCGI Scientific Director;\u00a0Suani T. Coelho<\/strong>, RCGI Deputy Director of the Advocacy Programme and professor at USP;\u00a0Paulo Artaxo<\/strong>, professor at USP;\u00a0Patr\u00edcia Iglecias<\/strong>, professor at USP;\u00a0Tamara Gomes<\/strong>, professor at USP; and\u00a0Tadeu Malheiros<\/strong>, professor at USP. This strategic Dialogue on Climate Action, Biodiversity Conservation, and Sustainable Investment in Brazil will cover opportunities and possible alternative strategies to support governments, academia, and the private sector in implementing appropriate public policies for achieving climate, biodiversity, and sustainability goals in Brazil. The session will connect government officials, private sector practitioners, and academics to discuss the goals in a practical way.<\/p>
