Chemical Engineering<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20943\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rcgi.poli.usp.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Email_ProfessoraRita_RCGI.png?x44813\" alt=\"\" width=\"219\" height=\"35\" \/><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/buscatextual.cnpq.br\/buscatextual\/visualizacv.do?id=K4796948T4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3682\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rcgi.poli.usp.br\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/plataforma-lattes.jpg?x44813\" alt=\"plataforma-lattes\" width=\"15\" height=\"18\" \/>CV Lattes<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Biography<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rita Maria de Brito Alves is Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Bahia \u2013 UFBA (1981), with specialization in petrochemical processing \u2013 CENPEQ \u2013 UFBA \/ PETROBRAS \/ PETROQUISA (1981), MSc in Chemical Engineering by the State University of Campinas \u2013 UNICAMP (1994) and DSc in Chemical Engineering by University of S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 USP (2003). She was post-doctoral fellow at ENSIACET \u2013 Institut National Polytechnique de Toulouse \u2013 France (2004) and scientific researcher at University of S\u00e3o Paulo (2005-2009).<\/p>\n<p>She was Engineer Processes in COPENE Technology Development Center (Current BRASKEM SA) from 1982 to 1989 and later she was Coordinator of the Area of Exploration and Evaluation of Petrochemical Technology Innovation &amp; Corporate Technology (2011-2014). She is Assistant Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering at Polytechnic School of University of S\u00e3o Paulo. Her research area is on phase equilibrium thermodynamics and modeling, simulation and optimization of chemical processes and has particular interest in the applications of models to natural gas and CO2 conversion and biorefineries. She is enrolled on the RCGI-Research Centre for Gas Innovation (Shell-FAPESP) as Deputy-Director of the Physical-Chemistry Programme and also as Project Coordinator of the Projects \u201dSynthesis gas production by methane tri-reforming\u201d, \u201cAdvanced catalyst for Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis\u201d and Reduction of greenhouse gases emission through integration of power plants and CO2 conversion processes\u201d.
