Paris, June 11, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 The first day of VivaTech 2025, one of the world\u2019s leading technology and innovation events, featured a special program organized by the State of S\u00e3o Paulo and the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP), with support from FAPESP<\/strong> and active participation from the Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Innovation (RCGI)<\/strong>. The initiative reaffirms the central role of Brazilian science and innovation on the global stage.<\/p>\n

The special session took place this Wednesday (11), from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, in Workshop 2 at Hall 2, bringing together prominent authorities and researchers to discuss strategies and advances in technology, sustainability, and health.<\/p>\n

The session was divided into two roundtables. The first, titled \u201cThe State of S\u00e3o Paulo\u2019s Innovation Strategies for a Global Tech Hub,\u201d<\/strong> explored public policies and initiatives that have positioned S\u00e3o Paulo as a global technology hub. Panelists included the S\u00e3o Paulo State Secretary for Science, Technology and Innovation, Prof. Vahan Agopyan<\/strong>; USP Rector, Prof. Carlos Gilberto Carlotti<\/strong>; and FAPESP\u2019s<\/strong> Executive Director, Prof. Carlos Am\u00e9rico Pacheco<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The second roundtable, \u201cScience and Innovation for a Sustainable Future: USP\u2019s Advances in Climate, AI, Clean Energy, Health, and Technology,\u201d<\/strong> showcased some of USP\u2019s leading scientific advances in areas crucial to the future of humanity. Speakers included Prof. Paulo Artaxo<\/strong> (Climate), Prof. Julio Meneghini<\/strong> (Energy Transition), Prof. Carlos Labate<\/strong> (Sustainable Fuels), Prof. Marcelo Zuffo<\/strong> (Electronic Systems), Prof. Fabio Cozman<\/strong> (Artificial Intelligence), and Prof. Vanderlei Bagnato<\/strong> (Optics in Health Sciences).<\/p>\n
