International conference opens call for papers on energy transition and the geopolitics of innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n

Researchers have until June 26 to submit abstracts to ETRI 2026, which will be held at the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP), in the city of S\u00e3o Paulo.<\/p>\n

The call for papers is now open for the Energy Transition Research & Innovation Conference (ETRI 2026), an international conference that will take place from November 4 to 6, 2026, at the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (USP), in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil.<\/p>\n

Researchers from Brazil and abroad may submit abstracts until June 26, with a late submission deadline extended to August 3.<\/p>\n

In its 9th edition, the conference will focus on the theme \u201cThe Geopolitics in Innovation\u201d and aims to explore how geopolitical dynamics influence the development, implementation, and regulation of technologies related to the energy transition.<\/p>\n

ETRI 2026 is organised by the Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Innovation (RCGI) at USP in partnership with the Offshore Technology Innovation Centre (OTIC), bringing together researchers, industry representatives, and policymakers to discuss solutions for decarbonisation.<\/p>\n

Submissions must be written in English and may cover a wide range of topics related to the energy transition. Thematic tracks include nature-based solutions (NBS), carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), bioenergy with carbon capture (BECCUS), greenhouse gas emissions reduction technologies, electrification and energy storage, as well as ESG, carbon markets, energy systems modelling, and public policy.<\/p>\n

The call also welcomes contributions addressing technological challenges in the offshore sector, including new processes and operations, low-carbon energy generation, digital technologies, new materials and nanotechnology, as well as operational safety and circular economy.<\/p>\n

Notification of acceptance is expected from August 3, which also marks the opening of registration for the event.<\/p>\n
