His research focuses on electroanalytical chemistry, with particular emphasis on the development of low-cost, miniaturized electrochemical sensors and biosensors for point-of-care diagnostics, environmental monitoring, and wearable applications.<\/p><p data-start=\"502\" data-end=\"927\">He has established a strong international profile, with extensive collaborations and visiting research experience, and serves as Associate Editor of <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Analytica Chimica Acta<\/span><\/span>. Fern\u00e1ndez was born in Argentina. He received his B.Sc (2006) and Ph.D. (2011) in the Research Institute of Theoretical and Applied Physical Chemistry (INIFTA) at University of La Plata, La Plata, Argentina under the supervision of Profa. Maria E. Martins. During 2012-2014 he was postdoctoral fellow in the same institution. In 2014 he joined the Electrochemistry Group at the Chemistry Institute of S\u00e3o Carlos, USP, where worked as a Posdoc with Prof. Germano Tremiliosi-Filho until August of the same year when he was appointed Assistant Professor at the Chemistry Institute of the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP). Between 2010 and 2013 he visited the group of Prof. Giuseppe C\u00e2mara (UFMS- MS) where he worked intensively with FTIR in situ. From 07\/2015 to 03\/2016 he joined the Catalysis and Surface Chemistry Group, at the University of Leiden (The Netherlands) working under supervision of Prof. M.T.M. Koper. He is currently Assistant Professor at UNICAMP, head of the Campinas Electrochemistry Group (CampEG) and Investigator in the Center for Innovation on New Energies (CINE). Since 2020 is the Brazilian representative of the SIBAE (Ibero-American Society of Electrochemistry) and Director of the Physical Chemistry Division of SBQ (Brazilian Chemical Society). C. Silva holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp) (2015) in Brazil, with an internship period at The State University of New Jersey &#8211; Rutgers (USA). Since 2016, she has been an assistant professor at Mackenzie Presbyterian University and an associate researcher at MackGraphe &#8211; Mackenzie Institute for Research in Graphene and Nanotechnologies, located in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil. She served as a visiting professor in the Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors Group at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) in Barcelona, Spain (Feb 2020 to Jun 2021). In 2016, Forbes Brazil included Cecilia Silva in the list &#8220;30 Under 30 Brazil,&#8221; recognizing her as one of the 30 most talented individuals under 30 years of age.
