REDD+ initiatives have been the subject of questionings regarding property rights. Brazil is a central country in that issue, because it has almost half of the remaining tropical forest of the world, is a leader in the ranking of highest deaths recorded due to land conflicts, has REDD+ projects in local and regional scale and has committed to reducing greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions through deforestation and forest degradation reduction. In this context, this work aims to analyze REDD+ initiatives emphasizing the property rights discussion. The three core-elements of these debate: liability, permanence and benefit distribution, directed the statistical analysis, through 36 variables, of 56 REDD+ initiatives mapped in Brazil. Results include the main characteristics, actions and approaches of property rights of REDD+ initiatives in Brazil.

Abstract: REDD+ has been approached at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) […]

[8

post-1060","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-seminars
["GET
