SAUSP

The USP Archive System – SAUSP – arose from the need to make USP’s administrative practices and the procedures adopted in organizing and archiving resulting documents compatible. Hence the formulation, in 1995, of a project focused on the importance of archives as basic support for the efficiency of the University’s different actions.

At the time, a Technical Committee and an Executive Group were appointed to operationalize the project, whose efforts resulted in the system’s basic management instruments: Document Temporality Tables, USP Activities Classification Plan and Glossary of Species/Formats and Types Documentaries – which would lead SAUSP to institutionalization, in 1997, by Ordinance GR n. 3083.

Currently, the Document and Access Assessment Committee (CADA), the Technical Body and the Sector Committees make the project’s actions viable. The philosophy adopted was, from the beginning, that of decentralization. In other words, SAUSP did not aim to physically concentrate documents in a single space, but to organize and standardize them through standards and procedures approved by CADA and passed on to the Sector Committee of each unit (Faculties, Central Management and Services Bodies, Centers and Specialized Institutes, Hospitals, City Halls, Attached Services) through training and publications.

As not all units have the space and resources to maintain permanent archives and related services, SAUSP opted for the construction of a building that could bring together, in appropriate conditions, documents originating from units that express an interest in delegating such responsibilities. to the USP General Archive.
