Who we are

Our lab studies different aspects of human behavior from a scientific, psychobiological perspective, including proximal and distal factors that influence human behavior and psychology.

We embrace the approaches of human Ethology, Evolutionary Psychology, Cultural Evolution, Behavioral Ecology, and related areas. The biggest focus is human sexuality, relationships, and personality.

We mainly investigate various sexual behaviors, such as:

  • sexual orientations;
  • sociosexuality;
  • different types of relationships (e.g. monogamous and consensually non-monogamous);
  • long-term relationship dynamics (e.g. love, jealousy);
  • preferences for sexual and romantic partnerships;
  • attractiveness of faces, bodies, voices and smells;
  • changes in appearance (use of makeup);
  • social perception;
  • sexual repulsion and disgust;
  • gay subcultures;
  • orgasm and its functions,
  • and others.

We also work on other topics, such as:

  • play and games;
  • sport and physical activities;
  • motivations and emotions;
  • artistic and creative behavior;
  • humor and others.
