Ph.D. Emico Okuno

Bachelor degree with a Teaching Qualification in Physics from the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences, and Letters of the University of São Paulo (1960) and a PhD in Physics from the University of São Paulo (1971). Conducted scientific research on Cosmic Rays with Prof. Cesare Mansueto Giulio Lattes from 1959 to 1967. She did an internship at the Ryerson Laboratory at the University of Chicago (3 months in 1962) where worked with Prof. Masatoshi Koshiba (Nobel Prize in Physics in 2002). She did a postdoctoral internship at the Istituto di Física della Università degli Studi di Parma (1971-1973). She has experience in the area of Medical Physics – Biological effects of ionizing and non-ionizing radiation, Biomechanics, Radiological protection, Thermoluminescent dosimetry, and Material Properties. She is the author and co-author of 7 textbooks, one of which is the English translation “Biomechanics of the Human Body”, published by Springer in 2014 and another, translated into Italian – “La Fisica del Calcio”, published in Italy by Editora Zanichelli in Feb/2016.
