The research and development project “CO2CHEM,” launched by Repsol Sinopec, focuses on the development of innovative CO2 capture technologies for the sustainable and economically viable production of green hydrocarbons, which are chemical compounds produced through industrial processes that do not emit greenhouse gases. These hydrocarbons can include green fuels, such as green diesel and gasoline, or even special paraffins used in the manufacturing of various products. The project involves key partners such as Hytron, a company from the NEA group, the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Escola Politécnica of USP, and SENAI CETIQT, through the SENAI Institute of Innovation in Biosynthetics and Fibers.
