The Electrocatalysis and Environmental Electrochemistry Laboratory ( LEEA ) is one of the research laboratories of the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters at Ribeirão Preto, USP. Its main objective is the investigation of electrochemical processes that occur at the electrode / solution interface and the role of electrodic materials in these processes. The research lines developed in LEEA mainly cover the Electrocatalysis and Environmental Electrochemistry. In Eletrocatalysis area organic molecules electrooxidation reaction and the oxygen reduction reaction are studied aiming at understanding the electrodic processes and the development of efficient electrodes for their application in fuel cells. It is also aim of LEEA studying and developing electrodic materials for application in the degradation of toxic compounds present in various types of industrial effluents.
