LABORATORIES

The Department Program headquarters has four laboratories which are developed research projects and training in laboratory techniques:

MOLECULAR BIOLOGY LAB:

Created in 2005 in order to evaluate the expression of genes and proteins using molecular biology tools in projects in vitro and in vivo related to the areas of Periodontology and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

CELL CULTURE LAB:

Created in 1999 with the objective of investigating the biology of bone and osteoblasts and osteoclasts interaction with biomaterials used as bone implants.

HISTOLOGY LABORATORY:

Created in 1998 with the objective of preparing tissue sections from metals and hard tissue for use in reviews by light microscopy.

3D BIO LAB – Multi-user laboratory for three-dimensional images Analysis of Biological Tissues and Biomaterials

Created in 2010 with the objective of analyzing computed microtomography and light microscopy interaction of bone tissue with biomaterials used as bone implants.
