A filmmaker associated with the cinema marginal movement, Carlos Oscar Reichenbach directed the episodes “Alice” in As Libertinas (1969) and “A Badaladíssima dos Trópicos vs. Picaretas do Sexo” in Audácia! Fúria dos Desejos (1970). He did the cinematography for his own films as well as for those of other directors. Reichenbach directed his first feature-length film, the comedy Corrida em Busca do Amor (1972), followed by the personal and innovative Lilian M, Relatório Confidencial (1974). Based in São Paulo’s Boca do Lixo, he made auteur films using the erotic film formula. In 1979, he released the romantic comedy Sede de Amar and the anarchistic A Ilha dos Prazeres Proibidos. His following works were marked by strong erotic content, including O Império do Desejo (1981), Amor, Palavra Prostituta (1982), and the first episode, “A Rainha do Fliperama,” from As Safadas (1982). He later filmed eight more works with greater creative freedom: Paraíso Proibido (1981), Extremos do Prazer (1984), Filme Demência (1986), Anjos do Arrabalde (1987), Alma Corsária (1993), Dois Córregos (1999), Garotas do ABC (2004), Bens Confiscados (2005), and Falsa Loura (2007).
