Actor, screenwriter, and film director.

Although he is Argentine, Campanella developed much of his career in the United States. There, he directed episodes of well-known series such as Law & Order (1999), House (2004), and 30 Rock (2006). He also directed and wrote for the Hispano-Argentine series Vientos de Agua (2005). In cinema, he debuted with Prioridad Nacional (1979), directing and acting. He then created Vitoria 392 (1984), The Boy Who Cried Bitch (1991), and Love Walked In (1997). However, his most successful films were made in his homeland in partnership with Argentine actor Ricardo Darín. Darín starred in Same Love, Same Rain (1999), The Son of the Bride (2001), Moon Club (2004), and The Secret in Their Eyes (2009), which won the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film in 2010.
